The Sound of Color-Blind Casting

I didn't watch The Sound of Music Live but I certainly enjoy this clip of the awesome Audra McDonald. She is so great that she make Carrie Underwood actually feel emotions (and saves us from having to watch Underwood unconvincingly play emotions onstage).

I love that McDonald, a black woman, is playing the role of a nun in WWII-era Austria. I'll celebrate color-blind casting when underrepresented brown folks get to play roles usually reserved for white people.

McDonald is amazing.
